GNSS and GPS signal splitters and inline amplifiers

Use a professional GNSS signal splitter or GPS signal splitter when one antenna must feed several NTP servers, PTP grandmasters, timing receivers or test instruments. The right accessory depends on the complete antenna-to-receiver path.

Do I need a GNSS surge protector?

Permanent outdoor antenna installations commonly require coordinated surge protection and grounding. Final placement must follow the site’s lightning-protection design.

When is an inline amplifier needed?

Use one only when calculated cable and component losses would otherwise leave insufficient receiver input level. Too much gain can also cause problems.

Can one antenna feed several receivers?

Yes. A purpose-built GNSS splitter such as the TW164B can distribute one full-band antenna feed to four receivers and manage receiver-supplied power.

Why does the ground plane matter?

For ceramic patch antennas, ground-plane shape and size affect gain, radiation pattern, axial ratio and multipath behaviour.
