01Baseline & monitor
Landing-station assurance
Build a repeatable baseline for each monitored path and investigate changes from the landing station.
Submarine fibre optic cable testing Malaysia
Submarine cable testing and long-haul fibre fault localisation with the Anritsu Coherent OTDR MW90010B—specified and supported in Malaysia by AMS Extreme.
Anritsu solution portfolio · Malaysia application support · Project-based configuration

Conventional OTDR methods cannot simply see through every optical amplifier in a transoceanic system. The MW90010B uses coherent detection and a tunable C-band probe to reveal the loss profile of long submarine cables with in-line repeaters.
Reference platform
A dedicated long-distance optical-fibre diagnostic platform for submarine cables with optical amplifier repeaters. Tune the probe wavelength across the full C-band and measure paths separated by repeaters at 80 km or more.
* Product performance depends on configuration, fibre type and measurement conditions. Confirm the required option set with AMS Extreme.
One diagnostic platform, deployed where submarine network teams need actionable distance-to-event information.
01Baseline & monitor
Build a repeatable baseline for each monitored path and investigate changes from the landing station.
02Locate & diagnose
Resolve fibre breaks, loss events and bending loss across amplified submarine links before dispatching a repair team.
03Repair & restore
Take a compact CoTDR platform aboard a maintenance vessel for offshore investigation and restoration support.

01
Capture a reference trace for every monitored fibre and wavelength path.

02
Compare scheduled or event-triggered measurements against the baseline.

03
Translate the trace change into a precise distance-to-event diagnosis.

04
Dispatch with better information, then verify fibre and service performance.
Anritsu and KDDI Research have demonstrated remote diagnosis of multicore optical-fibre cable in a simulated environment using the MW90010B to visualise fault location, loss profile and inter-core crosstalk. This is emerging research evidence—not a claim of standard deployed functionality.
Technical guidance for Malaysian submarine network operators, landing stations, cable owners and maintenance teams evaluating coherent optical time domain reflectometry.
A Coherent Optical Time Domain Reflectometer uses coherent detection to measure long optical-fibre links. It is suited to submarine cable testing where in-line optical amplifier repeaters make conventional OTDR measurement difficult.
The Anritsu Coherent OTDR MW90010B supports submarine fibre fault location, cable-loss profiling, bending-loss investigation and fibre-length measurement across amplified long-haul links.
The standard measurement range is up to 12,000 km. Option MW90010B-003 extends the specified maximum range to 20,000 km, subject to fibre, repeater spacing and measurement conditions.
AMS Extreme supplies and supports Anritsu MW90010B Coherent OTDR solutions in Malaysia for landing-station assurance, submarine fibre optic cable testing, fault localisation and restoration projects.
